OUR INSTRUCTORS

Our Pilates Teacher Training Program is designated by the Private Training Institute Branch of British Columbia and is one of a kind! It is based on the Classical Pilates repertoire and infused with Franklin Method Conceptions. By the end of the program you will acquire a strong knowledge base of body mechanics, Pilates anatomy, basic natural functions of the body as well as a strong understanding of the Pilates Method on all pieces of equipment. Upon graduation of the program you will receive a Diploma and you will be fully qualified to teach the full level 5 Pilates repertoire and therefore be able to assist other trainees going through our program.

FAQ'S
1. IS PILATES LIKE YOGA?
We love yoga and its benefits however, Pilates is very different in its own unique way. Pilates uses spring-loaded specialized equipment and focuses more on proper alignment and functional movement instead of holding poses. Try a class to experience the difference!

2. I'VE NEVER DONE PILATES, WHERE DO I START?
That's so exciting, there's so much to learn and explore! First-timers have the option of purchasing our "Intro Package" and receiving 4 Private Sessions at a discounted rate OR try a "First Time Assessment" for a single private lesson. Click on SIGN UP in the menu bar to purchase and schedule your first lesson.

3. HOW DO I SIGN-UP FOR CLASSES?
If you're new to Classical Pilates, you must complete an Intro Package before signing up to a class. Once you've completed the Introductory Package of private lessons, have a better understanding of the classical pilates equipment/exercises, and have the go-ahead from one of our Instructors, you're ready to start taking group classes. We typically advise starting with the Fundamentals Class and graduating to an Intermediate Classical Class before progressing to an Advanced Classical Class or Power Group.

If you've been practicing Classical Pilates for some time but are new to our studio, you must complete a First-Time Assessment before joining classes. We require this so an Instructor can see how you move and evaluate your understanding of the Classical repertoire and equipment before suggesting which class would be suitable for you.

Once you know which class you want to join, click on SIGN UP in the menu bar to choose from a list of membership options available to you. After you've signed up with Zen Planner and purchased a package, you can download the Zen Planner Member App to start scheduling yourself into classes.

4. HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD I DO PILATES?
If you can attend class once per week you're already ahead of the game! However, for the best results try 2-3 classes per week. This allows you to experience different teachers and practice with different group members within your Pilates routine. Click "SIGN UP" to purchase a membership package.

5. WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?
Breathable yet form-fitting workout wear due to the variety of movements, a water bottle (we have water for re-fill), and a great attitude.

6. HOW LONG ARE CLASSES?
55 minutes, with time left at the end for equipment cleaning.

7. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE LESSONS IN A GROUP CLASS, PRIVATE, OR SEMI-PRIVATE PACKAGE?
If you purchase an Intro Package or a package of 5 or 10 lessons of any type, you have 4 months to complete the package. If you purchase a 20 pack of group classes, you will have 6 months to complete the package.

8. CAN I TRANSFER THE UNUSED PORTION OF A PACKAGE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING ELSE?
Packages are non-transferable so you will not be able to use a package toward another type of lesson or assign package lessons to another person.
